My Mission
If you are on this page it is because you care! You give a damn about the content you read, the person who created it, and the people that you include in your circle of care.
You, like me, want high quality, genuine content that has a purpose. And you have found it.
THE FOUNDATION
I will never forget my first ‘Naturopathic’ potluck. By the time I entered into the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine I had already been on my health journey for a number of years. I had become accustomed to always having to justify my food choices when socializing, I would have to justify that I didn’t eat gluten and I would have to explain that there were many foods that I could not tolerate. So on this night, like all those that stood before it, I made a dish that I knew I could eat and planned to eat only that.
Walking in to that event that night I felt anxious, unsure of how I would be received. But within seconds I knew that I was in the right place and that I had found my tribe.
When I walked in and placed my food on the table I saw cards, not only was the name of the food listed but also the ingredients. Dishes were listed gluten free, egg free, dairy free and nut free. Not once that night did I get questioned about my food choices, no one felt threatened or probed about why I chose to eat differently.
This experience made me realize how healing it can be to have a community of supportive and like-minded people and I am on a mission to create that for you!
My experiences, both as a Naturopathic Doctor, and before, have taught me that there are certain aspects of the human condition that we need to fulfill in order to succeed in any part of life. These things, a feeling of health, connection & accountability, and a simple understanding, are like a stool. If one leg breaks off the whole thing falls to pieces.
THE MISSION ELEMENTS
Provide Vitality
When you feel healthy and vital the world is your oyster. You can go after a raise, you can show up for your friends and family, and you can seek out all of the opportunities that you want for yourself. You need to feel alive in your body!
Provide Connection & Accountability
We need partners in crime. Whether it lands you in jail (hopefully not), or in the gym or at Whole Foods, we need to feel supported and be ‘in this’ with another human being. No one should have to feel alone in their journey towards being their best selves. Inherently, being a connected part of a community, or part of a duo, also gives you the accountability that you need so that you do not have a bad day, fall off of the proverbial, non-existent wagon, and then never get back on.
Provide Simplicity
Simple Action = Simple results. There is way too much ‘stuff’ out there, telling you exactly what to do to be healthy, or promising THE answer to all of the world’s problems. You won’t find that here. I also want you to take what you read here and take the SIMPLE ACTION recommended. Because I will say it again, Simple Action = Simple results.
Many of you may be wondering why I am sharing this, and taking up precious side bar space, to inform you about it. Well, it is because I want nothing more than to create a lady tribe that can support each other in these shared values. I want people to know that my content, talks, webinars and podcasts will all be put together on the basis of these pillars. I also want to remind myself of my mission so that I provide you with only the best of me, at all times!
When you thrive, the world benefits, so let’s thrive together!
